{"id":19,"date":"2020-06-01T21:26:01","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T21:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/microsite.local\/?p=19"},"modified":"2020-06-07T18:32:42","modified_gmt":"2020-06-07T18:32:42","slug":"no-face-covering-no-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vi.gov\/covid\/articles\/no-face-covering-no-service\/","title":{"rendered":"No Face Covering, No Service"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>The governor\u2019s Safer-at-Home order, which went into effect early Monday, May 4 allows for some non-essential businesses to resume operations as long as they adhere to the safety guideline issued by the CDC and our local Department of Health.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u200d&nbsp;<strong>No Mask, No Service<br><br>\u200d<\/strong>All residents who wish to patronize any business&nbsp;<strong>must<\/strong>&nbsp;wear a face mask.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The only exceptions are children younger than 2 or residents with acute respiratory issues.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Ski masks are prohibited indoors and outdoors as a means of addressing the need for a mask in commercial establishments.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Taxis, safaris and cars for hire are considered commercial establishments and all occupants must have masks.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Free \u201cNo Mask, No Service\u201d signs for businesses will be available from the Department of Property and Procurement offices and Department of Consumer Affairs offices in both districts.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cSafer at Home\u201d rules have been adjusted to allow religious leaders to give their sermons without masks as long as they stay at least 10 feet away from the congregation.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The public is asked to report businesses in violation of the \u201cNo Mask, No Service\u201d policy by calling DLCA at 340-713-3522 on St. Croix and 340-714-3522 on St. Thomas.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Non-essential businesses allowed to reopen, pending their ability to follow social distancing and safety guidelines as proscribed by the CDC and the Virgin Islands Department of Health, include:&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Barbers&nbsp;<br>\u200d&nbsp;<br>Hair salons&nbsp;<br>\u200d&nbsp;<br>Massage therapists&nbsp;<br>\u200d&nbsp;<br>Gymnasiums&nbsp;<br>\u200d&nbsp;<br>Private health care facilities for elective medical visits&nbsp;<br>\u200d&nbsp;<br>Caribbean Cinemas does not anticipate opening before June 1, and Tropical Ten Pins also is not ready to reopen yet and still is developing its protocols.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Chicken and Bowling has gone out of business and will not reopen.\u00a0<br><\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Learn how to keep yourself and each other safe as we move to our new normal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":201,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-19","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-articles"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.0 -
