{"id":823,"date":"2020-09-06T07:22:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-06T07:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vi.gov\/covid\/?p=823"},"modified":"2020-09-08T11:08:48","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T11:08:48","slug":"governor-bryan-to-announce-transition-to-safer-at-home-phase-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vi.gov\/covid\/news-post\/governor-bryan-to-announce-transition-to-safer-at-home-phase-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor Bryan to Announce Transition to Safer at Home Phase Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Stay at Home remains in effect through Labor Day Weekend<\/em><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>September 6, 2020 | 7:22 AM AST<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>US VIRGIN ISLANDS \u2014 Governor Albert Bryan Jr. announced Saturday that he expects to issue an executive order moving the territory to the Safer at Home phase of its COVID-19 reopening strategy on September 8.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The governor\u2019s executive order placing the territory in Safer-at-Home will set new guidelines to take effect on September 8 when the existing restrictions under the current Stay-at-Home order are set to expire.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Guidelines under the territory\u2019s Safer at Home phase include:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Non-essential businesses open, bars remain closed, hotel reservation systems closed;<\/li>\r\n<li>Indoor\/Outdoor recreation facilities open, no food or drink;<\/li>\r\n<li>Facial covering in all commercial entities;<\/li>\r\n<li>No gathering greater than 50, facial coverings and social distancing required;<\/li>\r\n<li>Nursing homes closed to visitation;<\/li>\r\n<li>Beaches closed at 4PM on weekends and on Holidays;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Governor Bryan also said Saturday that he intends to allow dine-in service at restaurants under the Safer at Home phase beginning on September 8.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>However, the governor stressed that during the Safer at Home phase, restrictions on dine-in service at restaurant establishments will be reestablished.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Those restrictions include:\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>No serving of alcohol at bar counters;<\/li>\r\n<li>No seating of more than 6 persons per table;<\/li>\r\n<li>Tables must be 6 feet apart, and;<\/li>\r\n<li>Patrons must wear masks at all times when not eating or drinking.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The prohibition on hotels accepting any leisure guests remains in effect until September 18.
