U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. on Monday announced the successful finalization of a settlement agreement with Pafford Medical Services that results in nearly $2 million in savings for the Government of the Virgin Islands and brings resolution to outstanding invoicing for services rendered across several government agencies.
The agreement, which totals $6 million, addresses longstanding billing related to work performed for the Department of Health, Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the Bureau of Corrections, and the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital. The negotiated settlement represents a significant cost savings and reflects the administration’s focus on sound fiscal management and responsible governance.
“This agreement demonstrates our administration’s commitment to safeguarding taxpayer dollars while honoring the partnerships that helped support our territory during critical times,” said Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. “Saving nearly $2 million through this negotiation is a testament to the diligence of our team and the importance we place on resolving matters with integrity and fairness.”
Pafford Medical Services provided essential emergency medical transport and support services to the Virgin Islands during times of urgent need. The governor emphasized that the agreement not only brings financial resolution but also underscores a broader commitment to trust, accountability and doing right by those who stand with the territory in moments of crisis.
“When the people of the Virgin Islands needed help, Pafford responded without hesitation,” said Gov. Bryan. “This agreement is about more than settling an account. It reflects our values, fulfilling obligations with transparency, protecting public resources, and reinforcing the partnerships that strengthen our community.”
The settlement avoids the need for litigation and was reached through constructive, good faith discussions between both parties. Bryan extended his gratitude to Pafford Medical Services for their continued professionalism and to the government officials who worked collaboratively to secure a resolution that benefits the territory.
“I thank Pafford for their steadfast support and for working with us to bring this matter to a close,” said Gov. Bryan. “And I thank our team for delivering results that serve the best interests of the Virgin Islands. This is how we continue to build trust and move our government and our people forward.”
The Bryan Roach administration remains focused on financial accountability and strategic problem solving as it continues to address legacy issues and strengthen the Virgin Islands’ long term fiscal health.
