Government House Announces Governor’s 2025 Workforce Summit and Swearing-In of Vincent Roberts

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS— At today’s weekly press briefing, Government House announced two significant events that reflect Gov. Albert Bryan Jr.’s commitment to preparing Virgin Islanders for the future and strengthening leadership within the Government of the Virgin Islands.

The 2025 Governor’s Workforce Summit will open Tuesday, September 30, on St. Croix at Caribbean Cinemas from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The summit will continue Thursday, October 2, on St. Thomas at Caribbean Cinemas from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and conclude Friday, October 3, on St. John at the Legislature Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Now in its fifth year, the Workforce Summit has become one of the Bryan-Roach administration’s cornerstone initiatives. It will bring together workforce leaders, educators, training providers, employers, students, job seekers and community partners with a shared focus on aligning education and training with industry needs, strengthening career pathways and ensuring Virgin Islanders are prepared for opportunities in emerging industries.

“Governor Bryan has often said that the most important infrastructure we can build is not only roads and ports but also people, the human capital of our territory,” said Government House Communications Director Richard Motta. “The Workforce Summit is where those investments in people are put into action.”

Registration is free and available at viwdb.vi.gov. Residents who cannot attend in person can join virtually through Government House’s Facebook page at facebook.com/governmenthouseusvi or by tuning in to the Government Access Channel, Channel 27, for One Communications subscribers.

Government House also announced that on Wednesday, October 1, Governor Bryan will preside over the swearing-in ceremony of Vincent Roberts as commissioner of Sports, Parks and Recreation at Government House on St. Thomas. The ceremony will be by invitation only, but the public is invited to watch the proceedings live on Government House’s Facebook page and on the Government Access Channel, Channel 27.

On behalf of the Bryan-Roach administration, Government House congratulated Roberts and his family on this milestone and expressed gratitude to the members of the 36th Legislature for their favorable consideration of Governor Bryan’s nomination.

Together, these events highlight the administration’s focus on building opportunity and leadership across the territory. By investing in workforce development and strong public servants, the Bryan-Roach administration is advancing a vision of a Virgin Islands where every resident has the chance to succeed and every department is guided by leaders dedicated to service.
