Lt. Gov. Roach to Serve as Acting Governor Until Governor’s Return Sunday

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. is traveling off-island to Nassau, The Bahamas, to participate in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.’s 17th Biennial National Founders’ Day Celebration and associated Leadership Summit events. Governor Bryan, a member of the fraternity, will deliver a keynote address during the scheduled convenings.

The National Founders’ Day events are being held in Nassau from Jan. 7 through Jan. 11 and bring together members for leadership development, fellowship, and programming centered on service and achievement.

While in Nassau, Governor Bryan will meet with the prime minister of The Bahamas and also tour Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, Royal Caribbean’s port development project in Nassau. The Virgin Islands’ partnership project with Royal Caribbean in Crown Bay is a sister port initiative to that project.

During the governor’s absence, Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach will serve as acting governor and will continue oversight of daily government operations to ensure continuity of services.

Governor Bryan is expected to return to the territory on Sunday.
