Governor Bryan Out of Territory Nov. 20-26

Issues Thanksgiving Message and Grants Administrative Leave on Friday, Nov. 24

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – Governor Albert Bryan Jr. will be out of the Territory from Monday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Lt. Governor Tregenza Roach is also out of the Territory and scheduled to return on Nov. 29.

During the Governor and Lt. Governor’s absences, Finance Commissioner Nominee Kevin McCurdy will be the Acting Governor.

Gov. Bryan has granted all non-essential government employees administrative leave on Friday, Nov. 24, as “A Day of Prayer for Peace.”

“As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take a moment to reflect on the spirit of this special day with all of you,” Governor Bryan said.

“In these times, when challenges seem to surround us, it’s more important than ever to pause and recognize the many blessings we have.

As your Governor, I have witnessed incredible resilience and unity across our islands this year. Despite our hurdles, our community has shown remarkable strength and compassion. We’ve supported each other through storms, both literal and metaphorical, and emerged stronger.

Let’s be thankful for the unyielding spirit of the Virgin Islands and for the warmth and kindness that each of you brings to our community. We are thankful for our families, friends, and neighbors, who provide us with love and support. Let’s remember those who are no longer with us and honor their memories by continuing to build a community they would be proud of.

I am especially grateful for the opportunity to serve you and to work every day toward a brighter future for the Virgin Islands. Our journey is ongoing, and together, we will continue to overcome any challenge that comes our way.

This Thanksgiving, let’s cherish what we have, lend a hand to those who need it, and look toward the future with hope and determination. From my family to yours, I wish you a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Thanksgiving. Stay safe, stay strong, and stay thankful.

Happy Thanksgiving, Virgin Islands.”

The Bryan-Roach Administration continues to be committed to transparency, stabilizing the economy, restoring trust in government and ensuring the disaster recovery is completed as quickly as possible.
