Governor Bryan Proclaims March 17-24 National Agriculture Week in the US Virgin Islands

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has declared the week of March 17 through March 23, 2024, National Agriculture Week in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Calling Virgin Islands farmers symbols of strength and resiliency, Governor Bryan encourages residents of the Territory to celebrate and support Virgin Islands farmers and agricultural stewards.

“We recognize the unique and irreplaceable value that farmers, farmworkers, researchers, teachers, and other agricultural stewards and professionals have contributed to the past and present development of the territory,” Gov. Bryan wrote in his proclamation.

In naming March 17-24 National Agriculture Week, Gov. Bryan praised the agricultural community, noting the ingenuity and perseverance they have consistently demonstrated in the face of hardships. Whether faced by natural disasters, the impact of climate change, or economic constraints, the Territory’s farmers remain steadfast – producing safe, healthy food and other agricultural products.
