Governor Bryan Proclaims VI-Puerto Rico Friendship Day

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr. has issued a proclamation in honor of Virgin-Island-Puerto Rico Friendship on Monday, October 11.

The Governor noted that the Territory has been particularly enriched by the settlement in the Virgin Islands of a large number of native people of Puerto Rico whose contributions have been greatly responsible for the substantial economic and political progress achieved here during recent years.

“The people of the Territory of the Virgin Islands and the people of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico have had a long and happy association as relatives, good neighbors, business partners, fellow Americans and warm friends,” Governor Bryan wrote. “This close and friendly relationship between the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico has been mutually beneficial economically, financially and politically, strengthening even in the face of fierce natural disasters.”

The Bryan-Roach Administration is investing in the Territory’s people, infrastructure and future through transparency, stabilizing the economy, restoring trust in the government and ensuring that recovery projects are completed as quickly as possible. Visit transparency.vi.gov
