U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS —Government House announces that the weekly press briefing scheduled for Monday, August 18, will be canceled to allow Gov. Albert Bryan Jr., members of his administration and the Virgin Islands community to join in mourning and paying respects at the funeral of Magdalene Hendricks Plaskett, the mother of Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett.
Governor Bryan today extended heartfelt condolences to Delegate Plaskett and her family on behalf of the people of the Virgin Islands.
“The loss of a mother leaves a space in the heart that can never truly be filled. I join Virgin Islanders across our islands in offering prayers of comfort and strength to Delegate Plaskett and her loved ones during this time of deep sorrow. May the memory of Magdalene Hendricks Plaskett be a blessing, and may the love of family, friends and the community sustain them in the days ahead,” Bryan said.
The Governor, along with the Cabinet join the people of the territory in honoring the life and legacy of her mother and keeping the family in our collective thoughts and prayers.
The weekly press briefing will resume on Monday, August 25, at its regularly scheduled time.
