Governor Bryan, USVI Attorney General to Make Major Announcement July 27

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Governor Albert Bryan Jr issued a statement late Saturday announcing a years-long initiative aimed at identifying and potentially preventing human trafficking and enhancing support to victims:

“My administration is deeply committed to preventing human trafficking, enhancing public safety, and protecting young women and girls from abuse. That is why I support the Attorney General’s effort to enforce federal anti-trafficking laws against JPMorgan Chase, along with the other actions taken by the Virgin Islands Department of Justice against Epstein’s estate and on behalf of his victims. Next week, we will be making an announcement together on a new initiative to prevent and identify human trafficking and enhance support to victims. Developed as a result of conversations with victims of sex trafficking and leading experts on trafficking prevention, this proposal will further empower the Virgin Islands Government to support victims and combat trafficking. I look forward to sharing more details about this proposal soon.”

The Bryan-Roach Administration is investing in the Territory’s people, infrastructure, and future through transparency, stabilizing the economy, restoring trust in the government, and ensuring that recovery projects are completed as quickly as possible. Visit transparency.vi.gov
